ESTONIA: HAND-BUILT PIANOS AND BEST VALUE.
Estonia pianos are hand built in Tallinn, Estonia and like Fazioli, the Factory is family owned. With an annual production of 360 instruments, the focus is on quality, attention to details and great sound. Also, like Fazioli, only grand pianos are built, in 3 sizes. Here's a link to the ESTONIA PIANO FACTORY for more information.
One of the reason I chose Estonia is that I wanted a brand that would match my desire to offer great instruments, but also offer "Great Value". There's simply no better piano in that class, even at more than twice the price range. I find a lot of similarities between Estonia and Fazioli, starting with the fact both companies have a concert pianist as president. In the case of Dr. Indrek Laul, owner of the Estonia Piano Factory, it starts with a Ph.D. in piano from the Julliard School of Music. That gives him tremendous knowledge of what a piano should sound and feel like, so he can tell the factory where to improve on a regular basis. Again, like Mr Fazioli, I am in contact with Indrek weekly, discussing production, models availabilty and custom designs. Also, Indrek's parents run the factory in Tallinn, so customer's questions or dealer requests are answered much faster. The future of high quality piano building is in the hands of companies like Estonia: a family owned business, producing hand built instruments in low quantity and always looking for the best parts available.
I have always enjoyed design and creating new instruments has always been on my mind. This is why I am delighted to announce the arrival of the ESTONIA L-190 LIMITED EDITION , a 6'3'' custom made piano with a very exciting feature: the same sound board as a Fazioli !! After many months of discussion with indrek and the Factory in Tallinn, this "hybrid" instrument was built with the same Italian CIRESA sound board found in Fazioli pianos, along with the same burl poplar inner rim veneer. The sound board in a piano acts as a speaker, amplifying the string vibration and giving the piano its power. This sound board comes from the same forest, in Northern Italy, where Stradivarius went to choose the wood for his violins. This "Abete Rosso", or red spruce, is well known for its resonance and very tight grain but is also in very limited supply.
This Estonia is one of a kind, only available at Pierre's Fine Pianos. Here are some pictures of this incredible piano, feel free to email us or call 310-473-0600 if you have any questions.
