At a time manufacturers look for ways to lower costs, by finding the cheapest parts or labor, Paolo Fazioli is making sure his pianos are built without any compromises, using the best parts available. In just 30 years, he has succeded in making the finest piano available, out of a desire and a vision to create a better instrument.
Using a team of 35 skilled craftsmen, each Fazioli piano is assembled by hand over a 6 months period, with an attention to details unmatched today. Only 100 of these amazing pianos are produced each year, just enough to make sure each instrument receives the attention needed to have the finest tone, touch and workmanship.
At the heart of each Fazioli, you'll find a sound board made of "Abete Rosso", or red spruce, from Val De Fiemme.This is the same wood, from the same forest, that Stradivarius used for his violins. It has a very resonant nature, because it comes from spruce trees that have grown in a very cold climate for centuries.
A Fazioli designed action is made by Renner in Germany, the best action maker and all the metal hardware is plated in 18K gold, to make sure it will never tarnish.
Paolo Fazioli's passion for piano building shows in every work of art that comes out of the factory. He personally plays each piano before they are crated and shipped, to make sure everything meets his expectations. Perhaps one could also view it as a final goodbye to one of his creation....
Fazioli pianos are the exclusive choice of Herbie Hancock, Angela Hewitt and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, to name a few.
